José Da Silveira's talent and dashing good looks have made him an artist of some celebrity in Europe. His distinctive style of modern surrealism has been called "Formism"; Da Silveira's swirling shapes and colors are sometimes compared to the work of Picasso and Van Gogh. He is particularly known for his paintings of women; he also writes poetry and fiction.
